I started in the media industry at the age of seventeen in 1987 as an A.P for a Central T.V Producer making high quality corporate videos, some of which have won PR awards. This involved producing, directing and editing films with varying budgets and size, from single camera to the larger multi-camera studio shoots. Over the following 4 years I developed a keen interest in sound and was trained by various broadcast sound recordists from pebble mill and central TV. I went freelance as a fully fledged sound recordist in 1993 and have been freelance ever since working on various programmes from drama to award winning documentaries and fast turn around childrens programmes. Within these programs I have been sound recordist within a psc crew and for self shooting productions, sound supervisor on multi-camera studio / actuality shoots and production sound mixer on various dramas. My grounding on the production side of filming means I have a very good knowledge of the pressure and needs of a production company, which gives me the understanding to be flexible on shoots, before and after a film has been finished.
